Translations
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Translations let you offer your products in multiple languages. MicroPIM translates product content with AI, tracks each translation through a review workflow, and lets you switch between languages right inside the product editor. Translations cover product content — names, descriptions, SEO fields, tags, and attribute values.
Navigation
Section titled “Navigation”Sidebar: Translations
URL: /admin/translations
The Translations page lists your organization’s translations and can be filtered by language, status, product, and free-text search, with per-language statistics.
Languages
Section titled “Languages”MicroPIM translates into a curated set of 16 languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Romanian, Hungarian, Czech, Slovak, Bulgarian, Greek, Turkish, and Ukrainian. Your organization has a default language; translations are created for the other languages you target.
What gets translated
Section titled “What gets translated”Each product translation stores its own copy of:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Name | Translated product name |
| Description | Full product description |
| Short description | Summary text |
| Slug | URL-friendly identifier for the language |
| SEO | Meta title, meta description, and meta keywords |
| Tags | Product tags |
| Attributes | Attribute names and option values are translated too |
How translation works
Section titled “How translation works”MicroPIM translates products with AI — using Anthropic’s Claude or DeepL, depending on your organization’s configured provider. Translation runs in the background:
- Choose one or more products and one or more target languages.
- MicroPIM queues each product-and-language pair for translation.
- The AI translates the product’s content, including its attributes and options.
You can translate a single product or run a bulk translation across many products and languages at once. Because translation is metered, each translation also records the provider, model, and usage for cost tracking.
Review workflow
Section titled “Review workflow”Every translation moves through a status so you can see what’s ready and what still needs attention:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Queued for translation |
| Translating | Being translated |
| Completed | Translated and awaiting review |
| Approved | Reviewed and signed off |
| Failed | The translation didn’t complete |
A completed translation sits pending approval until a user reviews it and marks it Approved. If a translation fails, you can retry it.
Translating from the product editor
Section titled “Translating from the product editor”Open a product and switch to its Translations tab (/admin/products/{id}/translations) to see every language’s status at a glance and translate any language that’s missing.
Within the product editor you can also switch the language you’re viewing: use the “Load product in” selector to load a translated version of the product’s content and review it side by side with your work — without leaving the page.
