Import from Feed
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Import from Feed brings products into MicroPIM from a supplier or marketplace product feed. There are two ways to work with feeds, depending on whether you need a one-time import or an ongoing, scheduled sync.
- One-time import — the Import from Feed tab in the Import dialog.
- Recurring supplier feeds — a scheduled feed source in Automation, with a review-and-approve workflow. This is the recommended approach for supplier catalogs you refresh regularly.

How to run a one-time feed import
Section titled “How to run a one-time feed import”To run a one-time feed import, paste the feed URL into the Import from Feed tab; MicroPIM queues it as a scrape request.
- Open the Import dialog and select the Import from Feed tab.
- Enter the feed URL.
- Confirm the supplier agreement and start the import.
- The request is queued and appears in the Import List.
Recurring supplier feeds (Automation)
Section titled “Recurring supplier feeds (Automation)”Set up a feed source once and MicroPIM refreshes it on a schedule, staging new and changed products for your review before they touch your catalog.
Supported feed formats
Section titled “Supported feed formats”| Format | Notes |
|---|---|
| XML / RSS / Atom | Includes Google-style product feeds |
| CSV | Delimited product exports |
| JSON | Structured product data |
| XLSX | Excel workbooks |
The format is auto-detected when the feed is fetched.
How to set up a recurring feed source
Section titled “How to set up a recurring feed source”To set up a recurring feed, create a Feed-type source in Automation, validate the URL, and choose a refresh schedule — new items are staged for review before they reach your catalog.
- In Automation, create a source with type Feed.
- Enter the feed URL and, if required, the authentication type and credentials.
- Use Discover Fields and Test Connection to validate the feed and map its fields.
- Set a refresh frequency: hourly, daily, weekly, or a custom schedule.
- On each run, incoming products are staged as feed products for review.
Review & approval
Section titled “Review & approval”New feed items land in a pending state and are not written to your catalog until approved:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Newly discovered — awaiting review |
| Approved | Accepted into the catalog |
| Rejected | Excluded |
| Removed from feed | No longer present in the source feed |
You can approve or reject items individually, approve all pending items at once, edit fields before approving, and view sync statistics.
Fields
Section titled “Fields”| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Feed URL | The address of the product feed |
| Authentication | Optional feed auth type and credentials |
| Frequency | Refresh schedule (hourly, daily, weekly, custom) |
| Field mappings | How feed fields map to MicroPIM fields |
| Status | Pending, approved, rejected, or removed from feed |
