Import from Website

Import from Website imports a full catalog from a website you have configured in MicroPIM. Instead of pointing at a single page, you select a saved Website and MicroPIM discovers its products through the site’s sitemap, then queues each one for import.

Use this method for a whole-store import. For a single section, use Import Bulk; for a few known pages, use Import from Link.

  • A Website must be configured, active, and belong to your organization. You select it from a dropdown when starting the import.
  • The website’s base URL must match its sitemap so products can be discovered.

How to import a full catalog from a website

Section titled “How to import a full catalog from a website”

To import a full catalog, select a configured Website, run a Sitemap Import, and MicroPIM discovers and queues every product URL from sitemap.xml.

  1. Open the Import dialog and select the Import from Website tab.
  2. Choose a configured Website from the dropdown.
  3. Select the Sitemap Import method to import all products from the site’s sitemap.xml.
  4. Confirm the supplier agreement and start the import.
  5. MicroPIM discovers the sitemap, filters product URLs, and processes them in batches. Each product becomes a scrape request in the Import List.
  • MicroPIM locates and parses the site’s sitemap, filters for product URLs, and imports them in large batches.
  • Products are de-duplicated so the same URL is not imported twice.
  • Depending on catalog size, a full-website import can produce many requests and take time to complete.
